Divine Intervention

“For my final rehearsal with Breez I chose my maroon leotard with tight grey shorts. In the past two weeks I have learned two full-length dance works and most of a new creation. My thighs are like boulders and I am covered in bleus—bruises. When it came time to say goodbye to Breez and the other dancers, I realized how much I would miss working with them. I thanked Breez and tried to put as much sincerity as possible in my voice when I told him how much I enjoyed these last two weeks. He told me that I look beautiful in his work and he wants me to come back for the next project. I almost started to cry. I do feel beautiful when I dance Breez’ choreography.”
